Youth Fund Grant Awards!

The Community Foundation announced four grants to organizations from the Jo Daviess County Youth Fund. The grants awarded this year went to Galena Arts & Recreation Center, Riverview Center, Jo Daviess County Longbeards, and Galena Community School District, totaling just under $9,000.

 

“This grant program is here to spur new opportunities for young people in Jo Daviess County,” said Bridgette Stocks, board chairperson for the Community Foundation.

 

Four grants were awarded including a $3,500 grant to the Galena Art & Recreation Center to fund transportation to the pool to ensure all summer camp participants can learn to swim, and $1,800 grant to the Galena Community School District, a $2,500 grant to Riverview Center, and a $1,118 grant to the Jo Daviess County Longbeards to fund outdoor education programming.

 

Growing the Jo Daviess County Youth Fund is a key focus of the Community Foundation. “It’s a fund designed to meet the needs of our young people today, so they can lead the community in the future,” says Eric Dregne, Community Foundation president, "You can help by investing in the fund today.”
