START A FUND

We're here to help you give back to your community in a personal, meaningful, and impactful way. We help you make your vision for a better community a reality. We specialize in helping you create a fund or contribute to an existing fund for a cause you care about.  We can also provide guidance in determining where community needs are greatest to help increase the impact of your charitable giving.

It's YOUR Community Foundation. Give YOUR way.

LEAVE A LEGACY

Legacy Giving

YOUR PASSIONS YOUR LEGACY

Making a legacy gift is an opportunity to reflect on your values and passions. Perhaps there is a cause you have felt strongly about through the years or a local organization that has helped you or a loved one in a time of need. Whatever your inspiration for giving, your legacy gift is an enduring
testament to the causes you hold dear.

HOW WE HELP YOU

When you give to the Community Foundation, you ensure that your gift stays in your community. Unlike private foundations, we aggregate many funds, increasing their impact while providing the maximum tax advantages for income, gift, and estate tax purposes. We can help you: • Determine the type of gift to leave. • Show you the impact your gift will have. • Share information about tax benefits. We also can work with you and your professional advisors, including CPAs, attorneys, bankers, and life insurance representatives.

WHAT IS A FUND?

Think of it as your private foundation. When you give to the Community Foundation, we establish a

separate and distinct fund — the vehicle that preserves your philanthropy and family name — to

fulfill your stated charitable purpose.

The assets are invested and grants are made to address issues you care about. Grants carry the name

given to the fund, and your philanthropy endures. We are here to help generous people like you

give back to the community — now and forever. We invite you to call or visit us anytime to

discuss your charitable giving goals.

FUND TYPES

AGENCY ENDOWMENT

An endowment helps create stability for a nonprofit and helps ensure its long-term future. Nonprofit organizations can establish an agency endowment at the Community Foundation. It's a simple and efficient way to build an endowment. Donors can make gifts to a nonprofit's endowment to invest in the organizations future.

FIELD OF INTEREST FUND

By establishing a field of interest fund, you can target your giving to address needs in an important area of community life. You identify your personal interest area when making your gift; our board awards grants to community organzations and programs that are making a difference in the area you select. Your gift stays flexible enough to meet community needs in your interest area, even as those needs change over time.

DESIGNATED FUND

Establishing a designated fund allows you to support the good work of a specific nonprofit organization such as senior care, museum, or any other nonprofit charitable organization. Because its given through the Community Foundation, your gift provides the organization you select not only funding but also planned giving and investment management services, and the power of endowment.

DONOR-ADVISED FUND

Your donor-advised fund allows you to stay involved in your gift. You begin by making a gift to the Community Foundation to establish your donor advised fund. You can work with our team to suggest ongoing uses for the fund, targeting issues and causes you care about. Grants are made to charities in the name of the fund (or anonymously if you prefer). A simple, powerful and personal way to give.

SCHOLARSHIPS

A scholarship is an investment in your community's future and shows students their efforts matter. The Community Foundation provides the expertise to help you meet your personal goals and award scholarships to deserving students. You can help students from preschool to post-graduate achieve their dreams.
