A new foundation for The Black Hawk Park District has been started. The fund, called the Black Hawk Park District Foundation will be held at The Community Foundation of Jo Daviess County and will support the Park District’s efforts to make improvements and maintain the park facilities in the District.
The Park District recently announces plans to replace the pool in Meridian Park, in Warren. Funds raised for the project will be held by the Community Foundation of Jo Daviess County. In addition, the Park District will raise additional funds to be held in the fund for future park improvements. The community passed a referendum that will also support the cost of the pool replacement.
“We are excited that the citizens voted to support the project and that we have a great partner in the Community Foundation to help us connect with donors and grant funding”, said Black Hawk Park District Board President, Joel Fonseca.
Gifts to the Black Hawk Park District Foundation can be made online on the Community Foundation website at www.cfjodaviess.com or by mailing a check to: Community Foundation of Jo Daviess County, P.O. Box 77, Elizabeth, IL 61028.
