A bill to bring a new program to Illinois that supports GIVING in our communities is making its way through the legislature. It's called Endow Illinois.
It will provide a 50% tax credit to donors like you who make a gift of $100 or more to an endowment at a community foundation. Endowments are funds that support nonprofits in our community - forever.
This has been in place in Iowa for nearly 2 decades and has helped nonprofits in raise hundreds of millions of dollars to support education, childcare, meal programs, and nonprofits of all kinds. In the short Endow Illinois would work like this if passed 50% tax credit for donors making gifts of $100+ No wait list, first come first serve (starting in 2024)
Excludes donor-advised funds
Gifts are given to a fund at a Community Foundation
